Your privacy matters to me and I’ll do everything I can to protect it. The bullets below summarise the way I manage your data. Further down, I’ll explain these elements in more detail.
- I don’t sell your personal data to any third party.
- I track my visitors search behaviour using Google Analytics.
- I show ads on my site from Google Adsense.
What personal data I collect and why I collect it
What about my own cookies?
If you leave a comment on my site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you don’t have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
When you leave comments on my site, I’ll collect the data shown in the comments form, and also your IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
How I protect your data
I implement a combination of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you enter, submit, or access your personal information. My site uses the https protocol and all databases are carefully encrypted.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Who I share your data with
I don’t sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist me in operating my website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.
How long I retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on my website (if any), I also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where I send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
